* Client Testimonials *

Nick helped me to prepare for a role where I had to sing and play guitar at the same time. I had never picked up a guitar before.
He was very easy and patient, he taught me enough skills to get through an audition in less than a week. I went from never touching the instrument to being able to play full songs. I highly recommend him.

Marisha Wallace
2x Olivier Award-nominated actress and recording artist.
Nick helped me prepare for an audition where I had to play and sing simultaneously. I had never played the guitar before but with his help managed to play a considerably challenging piece within 3 weeks and received great feedback from the audition panel as a result. I come from a piano background and he knew how to tailor his teaching to my strengths and provided me the most effective way to learn and practice. In addition, he’s very patient and gave me the confidence I needed. I’d highly recommend Nick.

Zheng Xi Yong
Actor and Singer (Bridgerton, Your Lie in April, Barbie etc)
Nick has been my teacher for 3 years now and in that time I’ve made incredible progress. Under his guidance I managed to achieve a distinction in my Grade 8 Rockschool exam in only one term. Throughout my time playing Zack Mooneyham in the West End production of School of Rock Nick helped me to perfect my technique and improvisation skills, making sure that I performed to the best of my ability and this greatly increased my confidence on stage....

He really is an awesome teacher and my lessons with him are always the highlight of my week.

The Independent Society Of Musicians

"How To Become A Session Musician"

I was asked by the Independent Society of Musicians (ISM) to write this guide on how to build and sustain a career as a session/freelance musician in today’s challenging industry. Offering a practical, honest insight into what the job really looks like in 2026.

Inside, I talk about how the term session musician has become an adopted title for a freelance/jobbing musician and break down the different types of work available, how musicians actually get said work, and the essential skills that keep you working-far beyond just playing your instrument well. From navigating inconsistent income and building strong relationships, to setting up a home studio and maintaining professionalism, this is a realistic overview for anyone looking to enter within the world of freelance musicianship.

Since there has been such a good response to the book, the ISM have just released it online for sale to general public at the modest price of £5.
